I’m passionate about helping family farms avoid these issues by focusing on the efficient transfer of land, buildings and equipment to the next generation. In this conference, I will discuss how business succession planning concepts can be incorporated into a comprehensive plan that addresses the unique issues facing farm families.
I will also present practical examples of farm succession plans that treat all off-farm heirs equitably, while passing control to those involved in day-to-day farming operations. This will include suggestions on how to avoid common succession planning mistakes and some of the most tax efficient ways to pass the farm to the next generation.
